Le 28 juin 2017 prochainement lors de l’ouverture du Festival of Speed qui se tiendra à Goodwood, Jaguar présentera Project 8, une version de la Jaguar XE préparée ‘Designed & Engineered’ by le Team SVO pour Special Vehicle Operations. Sans attendre le mois de juin, Jaguar présente XE SV Project 8 en livrée camouflage sur le circuit du Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Introducing the Jaguar XE SV Project 8
Jaguar SVO has announced plans to launch the most powerful, agile and extreme performance Jaguar ever: the new XE SV Project 8. Watch as a prototype version of the 600PS 5.0-litre V8 sports saloon is unleashed for testing at the gruelling Nürburgring Nordschleife track. Following the successful launch of Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 in 2014, Project 8 will become the second Collectors’ Edition vehicle to be designed and engineered by SVO.

Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) today announces the most powerful, agile and extreme performance Jaguar: the new XE SV Project 8. A prototype version of the 600PS Jaguar sports sedan offering supercar performance has now undertaken its debut test at the gruelling Nürburgring Nordschleife, adorned with an exclusive camouflage created by SVO Design.

Trois ans après le sublime Project 7, ou quand la F-Type Roadster est transformée en speedster, c’est à la berline XE de passer par le département SVO de Jaguar.
Jaguar XE
Sur base de Jaguar XE, le modèle de série a été annoncée au Salon international de l’automobile de Genève 2014, puis présentée au public au Salon international de l’automobile de Paris 2014. En janvier 2015, le modèle est élu la plus belle voiture de l’année 2014.
La XE s’inscrit dans la tradition des berlines sportives Jaguar. Architecture légère, lignes raffinées, la XE bénéficie de l’expertise de la marque avec son capot en aluminium. Sous la capot justement, on peut retrouver un moteur V6 3.0L Essence Suralimenté 380 ch.

On peut apercevoir un nouveau capot moteur avant, des boucliers avant et arrière redessinés, ses 4 sorties de pot et un aileron digne de ce nom.

Moteur Jaguar XE SV Project 8
With the most highly tuned version of Jaguar Land Rover’s five-litre supercharged V8, Project 8 will become the second Collectors’ Edition vehicle from SVO, following the successful launch of Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 in 2014. No more than 300 cars, all hand-assembled at SVO’s Technical Centre in Coventry, will be created for sale worldwide.
Sous le capot du félin mécanique, Jaguar SVO reprend le V8 5.0L suralimenté des véhicules badgés SVR telle que la Jaguar F-Type SVR de 575 ch. Pour cette berline, le Team SVO a poussé l’entraînement du félin pour développer 600 chevaux !
Jaguar 5.0L V8 Supercharged – engine / moteur
Pour rappel, la F-TYPE SVR propose l’évolution du 5,0 litres V8 suralimenté de Jaguar pour offrir le summum de la performance. Les modifications apportées à la calibration du moteur – adoptées par la F-TYPE Project7… et aperçu au cœur de la Jaguar C-X75 Spectre – affiche maintenant la puissance de 575 ch et un couple de 700 Nm.
Pour en savoir davantage, il faudra attendre le 2 juin, Jaguar y dévoilera les spécifications complètes de cette XE SV Project 8, avant qu’elle fasse ses débuts en public le 30 juin prochain au Festival of Speed de Goodwood.
